After BET promoted Mavado's So Special Video premier with great anticipation, BET pulled the plug on airing the video, stating that, "There was "excessive" illicit content in the video itself. Therefore BET will not be airing the video on 106 and Park or any other slot on the network.
MTV JAMS however decided that the videos put out by rappers are No different than Mavado's video, if not more "excessive", therefore their planning to air the video during the week of February 2 - February 8th, as Jam of the week. This act by BET is viewed by fans of Dance Hall Reggae as a bias faction, which is aimed at singling out and filtering Non-traditional BET videos, such as the different genres of music which stem from the Carribean.
With Serani getting ready to release the debut of his new video for his smash hit, "No Games", Mavado was compelled to make his mark as well by putting out a more authentic video for his hit single, "I'm So Special".
