Tony Matterhorn was born Dufton Taylor jr. on March 9th 1972. Tony Matterhorn was described by his peers as a serious but humorous personality, it was these features which later gave rise to his stardom. Tony was taught by a friend to d.j and in the early 90s he took this talent straight to dance hall`s biggest sounds.
Tony`s talents grew as a selector and he joined the legendary King Addies sound system, headed by Baby Face aka Lion Face. King Addies was a War machine, killing sounds in every clash they entered. Some of their best clashes were fought against the likes of Kilamanjaro, headed by Ricky "Serial Killer" Trooper. Matterhorn quickly gained fame and recognition as a comical General of musical war. He was the secret weapon of the King Addies sound system, playing his role as a War d.j.
In the mid 90s Tony broke from King Addies, and by the late 90s he was soon deported from the states (U.s.a.). He settled in london and resided in Jamaica as well. Convinced of his own unique creativity Tony continued to push for stardom. One day while on a boat in Montego bay, with his friend Ding-dong, dance hall`s newest sensation, he created a hit which instantly topped the charts. This hit was based on the head rolling and the lower body movements of the girls dancing on the Montego beach where his boat lay. He later named this song after the name the women used to describe their talented movements......."Dutty Wine".
Tony`s success came swiftly with the release of this recording, he also went on to top the charts with hits like: Goodas fe dem and Man fr. Mars. Tony is also responsible for the creation of some of Bounty Killer`s greatest hits, as he was once a ghost writer for Bounty Killer, hits such as Suspence, Miss Ivy`s last son, and One of Bounty Killer`s bigggest gun tunes......."War" !!!
