Ding Dong, the Prince of Nannyville, is fast reaching an iconic status within the world of Dance hall reggae. Ding Dong is among the elite few, who haved graced the same stage with Dance hall legend "Father Bogle aka Mr. Wacky". Since the death of Bogle, Ding Dong has rose to the occassion of granting Dance hall reggae continued life and existence, as far as the elements of dance are concerned.
As the founding member and leader of the famed "Ravers Clavers", Ding Dong is leading a "New" era of dancers, who seem to have their own distinct flavor and style. Over-Mars, of Ravers Clavers, has created dances such as the "Raging Bull" and the "Nuh-Linga". Wacky Fresh Prince, of Rolling Stones, who is a close friend of Ding Dong as well, has created a new dance entitled "How Mi Look", to which the unanimous response is Cleannnn......!!!
This New breed of talent, led by Ding Dong, promises to be the life-line of the dancing element of Dance hall reggae. With the recent death of Ice, creator of the "Gully Creepa" and member of the "Black Roses Fraternity", the same fraternity from which the late Bogle and Willie Haggart emerged from, dancing and dancers are faced with violence which surrounds and threatens, their fame as dancers.
Ding Dong and his multi-talented following have alot of work ahead of them. Dance hall reggae is so popular right now, and it would be a shame if we lost those who gave it a renewed spirit....!!! But something tells me that the Prince of Nannyville (Ding Dong) will re-create the spirit and character which shapes and molds the music that we love to dance to...!!!
