Zion Train Ent. Exclusive interview with Junior Cat.

Junior Cat is an Icon and veteran in the history of Dance hall reggae. He was born in Sieve Wright Garden community in Kingston Jamaica, otherwise known as Cockburn Pen, and from his youth he developed a passion for dee jaying.

Going by the alias "Mr. Docs", Junior Cat started dee jaying at school talent shows and multiple neighborhood dances with sounds like: Crystal Blue, Sound Imperial, and Cosmic Force. One night while dee jaying for Cosmic Force in Clarendon, an Artist who was also dee jaying that night heard the voice and sound of Junior Cat and the exceptional resemblance to that of Super Cat, the Original Dan dadda, said that "this yout`s name must be changed to reflect his sound", so he re-named "Mr. Docs" Junior Cat. Only later to find out that Junior Cat was actually Super Cat`s younger brother. This artist who was responsible for nick-naming "Mr. Docs" Junior Cat, was none other than the "Rough-Neck Chicken" Junior Demus.....!!!

As Junior Cat developed his skill as a dee jay, he moved on to other sound systems, from Jack Ruby to the Legendary Killamanjaro sound system. While he was with Killamanjaro, Junior Cat worked alongside: Professor Nuts, Ninja Man, Joe Lick Shot, Jeremy Lee, Ainsley, Puddy Roots, and the Late great Early B. He also worked producers such as: Bobby Digital Dixon, the son of King Jammy`s John-John, and his brother`s label Wild Apache.

Mistah lex: Are there any current dee jays that you rate ?

Junior Cat: An artist that i rate right now is Bounty Killer, him know bout da business side a tings and him determined and me see dat him mek it inna da business.

Mistah Lex: Is there anything about the business so far that you do/don't like ?

Junior Cat: Yes I, me like the fact dat the yout dem a work and dem eating a food, But me No like some radio station hustler dem, as we call dem radio prostitute, weh a have da artist tune and nah play dem an a look a money from artist.

Mistah Lex: What sound system or sound systems do you rate right now ?

Junior Cat: A sound system me rate right now is King Stereograph, nuff sound inna the passa passa ting, but King Stereograph still juggle live.

Mistah Lex: Where is your recording studio located and who do you currently work with ?

Junior Cat: The last producer i worked with is Steve from Truckback records, we worked on a couple of tunes, some of which has already been released: Touch Land, General Don with Hollow Point, Star Time with the yout call weekend. I also have my own label, Mr. Maragh Music.

Mistah Lex: How do you feel about the passing of Alton Ellis ?

Junior Cat: Him gone too soon, alot of the reggae artist dying too young, is like the microphone have a poison.

Mistah Lex: When can we look forward to your next single or track ?

Junior Cat: Currently i am still voicing and working on new tunes....Nuff Respect Everytime.
