Mighty Crown (The Far East Rulers).

Hailing from Yokohama Japan, in the far...far east, Mighty Crown is one of the foremost examples of the Globalization of Reggae music and culture. Founded by two brothers, Master Simon and Sammy-T, Mighty Crown have come a long way since their inception into the business in '91.

In the early 90s, Mighty Crown relocated from Japan to Brooklyn New York and became immersed in the Jamaican culture of Dance hall Reggae. They became regulars at the legendary night clubs of N.Y.C, the most famous one being none other than the legendary Biltmore Ballroom, formerly located in Flatbush Brooklyn. It was at these venues that Mighty Crown would experience and see legendary sounds such as: King Addies (Headed by Baby Face and Tony Matterhorn, Killamanjaro (Ricky Trooper), Bass Odyssey, Body Guard, Metro Media, Lp International. But none would influence Mighty Crown more than King Addies, who to this day Mighty Crown rates as the baddest sound of "Dem Times" (Late 80s-90s).

Mighty Crown was determined to set a "New" trend by being the first Japanese sound to enter the World of Clash, and this trend they achieved...!! ! After spending years of studying the business and the different styles of selecting and dee jaying, Mighty Crown was soon to achieve their first dream, by solidifying their place in the industry by winning World Clash.

In '99 Mighty Crown entered Irish and Chin's World Clash tournament, and exited with their very first 1st place Trophy...!!! One year later Mighty Crown forged and alliance with Irish and Chin and allowed the veteran promoter to manage and promote them. This league put Might Crown on the competitive edge, because with Chin as their promoter they saw that they could climb greater heights.

Mighty Crown is a very versatile sound, although Simon and Sammy are brothers, they both bring their very own energy and flavor to the clash arena. Master Simon, who is viewed as the Owner and leader of Mighty Crown is the more serious of the two, exemplifying his passion of the music through his bonafide knowledge of it's history and origin. Simon has masterfully studied Reggae music to a level of perfection. Knowing the history behind every artist and every tune he plays. This understanding of the business has put Simon on a platform of leadership when Mighty Crown is viewed on a whole.

......Sammy-T brings raw energy and fire to the aura of Mighty Crown. Sammy is a Japnese "badman" with rude bwoy shuffling in his heart...!!! It is Sammy T which gives Mighty Crown their famous competitive edge and creativity. When Sammy takes stage to defend "The Crown", there are No limitations to his arsenal of brutally comical tactics. Sammy is truly motivated by a genuine passion for the music he plays and he translates that passion in his own way. Feared by many selectors, whether they wanna admit it or not, when Sammy grabs the mic they know it's an up hill battle from here on.

Mighty Crown is rated by most of the credible veteran sounds as a tough competitor and fierce opponent, but with all their skill they have still experienced bias behavior from some of their rivals. But still Mighty Crown persists, without limitation, playing at any venue that will host them, regardless of the biasness they know they will face. Mighty Crown have been one of the foremost innovators when it comes to their brand of dubs and specials. When Mighty Crown cuts a dub-plate,there is so much creativity that goes into it, making them a bonafide champion sound in the business. Mighty Crown has thus far clashed the likes of: Lp International, Killamanjaro (Freddy), Sound Trooper (Ricky Trooper), The honorable David Radigan, Blunt Posse, King Addies, Bass Odyssey, Black Kat, and many other clash sound systems. Emerging from most of these rivalries no less than second place or winner....!!!

Mighty Crown's love of reggae music is a fine example of the powerful message of spiritual integration imbedded in the music itself. As reggae music is Globalized, more and more cultures are bridged and understood, and we hope that other cultural institutions will embrace the spirit within our music....(Kinky Reggae)....!!!
