The Vybez Kartel and Mavado Clash @ Sting

Finally they met....!!! Sting 2008, Vybez Kartel challenges Mavado to an all out clash. Dressed in military colors, Mavado and Kartel were both determined to show and prove their talents.

Vybez Kartel, dressed fully in camaflouge fatigues with full gear and helmet, took the war srtaight to Mavado. Kartel demonstrated his skills as a lyricist beyond a shadow of doubt. The clash began as the two artists taunted one another to come out and clash, AND COME OUT AND CLASH THEY DID...!!!

Mavado came in as the under dog seeing that the clash took place in Portmore, which is Vybez Kartel's hometown. But Mavado still contained a potential competitive edge because the band that played their riddims was none other than the Gully God's own "Anger Management Band"....!!!

The two lyricists went toe to toe like no clash ever before. They drew from their lyrical arsenal and fired shots at one another without regard for life. The crowd at one point seemed to be responding to Vybez Kartel's lyrical onslaughts more than that of Mavado's. But it was Kartel's reference to sexing Mavado's mother that changed the crowd's approval of Kartel. Mavado seeing blood at this point went straight for Kartel's jugular and managed to do some lyrical damage as the crowd responded to his antics greatly.

Vybez Kartel brought on stage a coffin with the words, "R.i.p barber bwoy" and bussesd in 2006, but buried 12-26-08, which was seen as a reference to Mavado being a farely new artist who challenged a heavyweight with more years of experience under his belt, an act which would land Mavado in this coffin prepared for him....!!! Mavado at one point ran off the stage, to which Kartel taunted him as a coward and adjured him aggressively to return to the stage immediately to settle the arguement...!!! Mavado then returned to the stage and replied that he only left to re-load his lyrical gun. But this act was later viewed by audience members as Mavado running out of lyrics and not being able to lyrically war with Vybez Kartel effectively.

At the end of the clash, Ninja Man who has his own rivalry with Kartel, came on stage and declared Mavado the winner of the clash. But this is seen as a bias act by Ninja Man, especially seeing that him and Kartel have their own history of lyrical and physical war....!!! The war between Kartel and Mavado is an on-going war and will not end at Sting. Their next meeting is greatly anticipated by fans of both artists, as it is sure to promise more drama...!!
